Brisbane Lions break membership record again
AFL Club becomes one of 10 to surpass previous highs
As of 2022, Brisbane Lions have 40289 members
The Brisbane Lions are one of ten AFL Clubs that have broken their own all-time Club membership number to hit 40289. This is the second year in a row that the Lions have set a personal record.
Other clubs that have exceeded their previous best include Adelaide Crows, Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong Cats, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, Melbourne and St Kilda.
The Lions' membership drive has been boosted by the team's on-field success in recent years, as they have made the finals in each of the past three seasons. The club has also made a number of high-profile signings in recent months, including Joe Daniher and Jack Gunston.
The Lions are hoping to continue their success on the field in 2023 and are encouraging fans to purchase memberships to show their support.
