Thunder Trade Tre Mann, Others to Hornets for Gordon Hayward
Oklahoma City Acquires Former All-Star
Details of the Deal
The Oklahoma City Thunder have acquired Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Tre Mann, Vasilije Micic, Davis Bertans, and two future second-round picks.
Hayward, a 32-year-old small forward, was a four-time All-Star with the Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics. However, injuries have limited Hayward to just 140 games over the past four seasons.
Mann, a 21-year-old guard, was the No. 18 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He has averaged 10.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 112 games with the Thunder.
Hornets Trim Salary
The Hornets, who acquired Hayward in a sign-and-trade with the Celtics in the summer of 2020, are reportedly motivated to move Hayward's salary off their books.
The trade also allows the Hornets to add some young talent in Mann and Micic, a 28-year-old guard from Serbia who was named the EuroLeague MVP in 2021.
