Early Life and College Career
T.J. Watt was born on October 11th, 1994, in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He started his football career playing prep at Pewaukee High, where he excelled on both offense and defense. Watt went on to play college football at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, starting out as a tight end. In 2014, he suffered a knee injury that kept him out until the middle of the 2015 season. Despite the setback, Watt managed to play 17 games last season and 104 games over his collegiate career, accumulating 190 sacks during that time.
Professional Career with the Pittsburgh Steelers
Watt was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round (30th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He quickly became a key contributor for the team, earning a reputation as a dominant pass rusher. In 2021, he tied an NFL record with 22.5 sacks, earning him the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Watt has made five Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro selections throughout his career.
